Eustrephus latifolius

Wombat Berry is a fast growing twining vine that can used as a ground cover. It has fringed white to pink small flowers in Spring followed by edible orange berries throughout winter.  The tuberous roots can be eaten either raw or cooked, and have an earthy taste.

Birds are attracted to the orange berries, and the tuberous roots are eaten by native animals such as wombats, hence the common name.

Wombat Berry will reach around 6 metres high and wide. Best grown in part shade, tolerates light frost, most soil types.

Sow seed approx. 5mm deep, part shade, well drained soil, suits most types of soil, suitable for containers.
