Basil 'Holy Red' / Tulsi / Sacred (Krishna)
This variety of basil is also known as sacred basil or Tulsi. It has slender purple red leaves and a purple stem. The scent is slightly minty and musky, and whilst it can be used for salads and other dishes, it is also commonly grown around temples, gardens and houses in India due to its sacred properties. It is also known to aid digestion.
Annual growing to approx 45cm. Sow in Autumn-Spring warm areas, Spring-Summer cooler areas. Prefers a sunny position, sow 5mm, germinates in approx. 10-14 days.
