Marconi Red Capsicum is an old Italian Heirloom variety that produces well. The capsicum is quite long, growing up to 17cm long, ripening from green to red as it matures. The flavour is a mild sweet taste. Also known as Marconi Rosso.
Sow seed approx. 6mm deep, Spring or after the threat of frost has passed in cool or temperate areas, all year round in warm tropical areas (except the peak heat Summer months). Well drained, fertile composted soil, full sun. Germination approx. 10 - 21 days. Maturity approx. 70-80 days.
Put in stakes before seedlings are transplanted to avoid any root disturbance. Staking the plants helps to keep the maturing capsicums clear of the ground minimising damage and blemishes.
