Centaurea cyanus
Blue Boy Cornflower is a lovely Annual flower growing to around 1 metre high, with sweet blue flowers and greyish-green foliage. It attracts beneficial insects such as bees and butterflies to the garden, and is often cultivated as a long lasting cut flower.
Sow seed approx. 5mm deep, March - September, full sun, well drained soil with wind protection. Germination approx. 7 - 14 days. Maturity in approx. 70 days. Remove spent flower head to promote further flowering.
