Thai Round Green Eggplant is an Heirloom variety originating from Thailand and is very popular in Thai and Vietnamese dishes. It produces small round light green fruit growing to approx. 5cm. It is an abundant producer, and heat tolerant.
Eggplant is a warm season annual, that requires a long growing season of around 5 months frost-free. Seeds need warm soil to germinate so in cooler areas you can pop your seed trays/pots inside on a warm window sill or the top of a hot water system, and once germinated transplant into warm rich well composted soil in the garden, full sun, moist well watered. May require staking to support plant.
Sow approx. 5mm deep, Spring or after frost. Germination approx. 10 - 14 days. Pinching out tips when plants are around 20cm high will encourage more branching, and again at around 40cm high will encourage fruit formation. Harvest maturity approx 80 days.
