Actinidia chinensis

Kiwi fruit are vigorous climbers and have a spread of up to 9 meters.

The fruit has both nutritional properties and health benefits. It can be eaten raw and is added to salads.

Both male and female plants are required to set fruit. Approx. half the plants will be male, and half female. It will be apparent when they flower (3 to 5 years after sowing seed).

When planting, choose the correct site, as this is a plant that does not like its roots disturbed once situated. A sturdy trellis is recommended. The young vines need to be trained.

Best in well-drained soil. Full sun/part shade. Plenty of water is required.

Sow in late Winter, using quality seedling medium, barely covering the seed with soil.  Germination approx. 2 - 4 months.

10 seeds per packet
