Elephant Leek is a large variety of leeks that can grow up to 10cm in diameter. Hardy biennial, often grown as a cool season annual. Leeks may not grow well in tropical regions.
Sow seed approx. 5mm deep, full sun, in rich well composted soil, in August - September for cold areas, and May - Feb for warm areas, and March - Aug for sub-tropical regions. Germination approx. 10-14 days.
Water well, hill stems with soil to blanch and create longer stalks. Matures in approx. 100 days.
