Cryptotaenia japonica

Mitsuba is an evergreen perennial that is commonly grown as an annual, also known as Japanese Parsley, Trefoil and Honeywort.  The plant looks similar to Italian Parsley, and can be used in a similar fashion in the kitchen.  The flavour is like celery and parsley mixed together.  It is commonly used as a garnish, added to salads or as a vegetable added to soups, stews, rice dishes etc.

Well suited for growing in pots, as it is a compact plant that reaches around 50 - 70cm in height.  It enjoys cooler shaded areas, is frost hardy, and won't last long in very hot climates.   Sow seed approx. 4mm deep, Spring and Autumn, moist well drained soil.  Maturity approx. 50 days.
