
Punica granatum (Pomegranate) is a small tree which measures between 5 - 8 meters tall and is mainly found in Iran, the Himalayas in northern India, China, USA and throughout the Mediterranean region.
The edible fruit is a berry which is about 5-12 cm in diameter with a rounded hexagonal shape, thick reddish skin and around 600 seeds.
For best results, grow Punica granatum in well-drained soil in full sun. Pomegranates need a long, hot summer to produce fruit.
Sow in Spring, using quality seedling medium. Germination approx. 6 - 8 weeks.
