Pisum Sativum

Climbing Sugarsnap Pea reaching approx. 100cm. The plants are best grown on a trellis for support, but can also be grown on the ground as a bush. Very sweet, crunchy, thick walled, green, juicy edible pods to approx. 7cm with good flavour.  Excellent raw, steamed or fried. Very productive and resistant to powdery mildew.

(Note: This variety contains approximately 2-4% seeds that will produce off-type regular pea plants.)

Sow 3mm deep, late Summer and Autumn in warm climates, Spring in cold areas. Frost will damage flowers. Grow in full sun, sheltered area, moist well drained soil, prepared with compost.  Water well once after sowing and then do not water again until seedlings appear. Peas dislike acidity, so add lime if necessary.  Days to harvest approx. 58 - 65 days.

20 seeds per packet
