Russian Tarragon is a hardy perennial Herb. The green leaves have a lovely aniseed flavour, and are commonly used in culinary dishes with fish, egg, poultry, sauces and stews. It also makes a lovely herb vinegar or butter.
Tarragon stimulates the appetite and digestive process; an infusion or tea made of Tarragon can help to ease flatulence.
It reaches a height of approx. 90cm, and produces clusters of bright yellow flowers which look lovely in garden borders. Similar to French Tarragon, but producing a more vigorous plant.
Sow approx. 1mm with very light cover of soil (needs light for germination) in Spring, full sun, dry position, well drained deep fertile soil. It enjoys warmer climates and is frost sensitive. Germination in approx. 10 - 14 days. Maturity approx. 90 - 110 days.
