The Black Cherry tomato is a Climbing (indeterminate) variety, which will require staking.
It is an early Russian, newer variety, known for its sweetness. It produces 3cm oval shaped, deep purple-black fruit. The fruit has a sweet, full and complex flavour that is simply delicious, especially when eaten raw straight from the vine.
This variety is vigorous and highly productive, with good disease tolerance.
Sow 5mm deep, in Spring and Summer. Full sun, moist well drained soil.
Prune plants to two main stems. Keep well watered. Pick when mature to encourage more fruit. To reduce the risk of disease water the base/roots rather than overhead. Rotate crops: do not plant in the same position two years in a row.
