Costoluto Fiorentino is an Italian heirloom tomato variety from Florence producing large fleshy beefsteak type tomatoes that reach up to 10cm across. Vigorous indeterminate vines bear fruit that is heavily ribbed and slightly flattened, making it ideal for slicing. It is wonderful grilled or when used in sauces.
Sow 5mm deep, Spring and early Summer, full sun, moist well drained soil
Plant vines will need staking. Prune plants to two main stems. Keep well watered. Pick when mature to encourage more fruit. To reduce the risk of disease water the base/roots rather than overhead. Rotate crops: do not plant in the same position two years in a row.
