The Red Fig tomato is an old Heirloom variety dating right back to the 1700's.
The plant produces very heavy yields of approx. 4cm bright red pear-shaped tomatoes. They are sweet and full of flavour, delicious eating fresh right off the vine.
The tomatoes can also be dried and preserved for winter use. In the past, they were dried and packed away for winter in substitution of figs, hence their namesake. This variety will produce hundreds of tomatoes.
This is an indeterminate variety and will require support or a climbing frame for the vines.
