Cucurbita Pepo

The Cocozelle Zucchini is an Italian heirloom variety. The plants are bushy and produce long straight, slightly ribbed, light green zucchini's with dark green stripes. This variety has a wonderful flavour and firm but tender flesh. Compact plant; ideal for small spaces. Quick growing and high yielding. Also known as 'Cocozella di Napoli'.

Sow seed approx. 2cm deep, in Spring after frost, in moist well drained, well composted, high nitrogen soil.  In tropical and sub-tropical areas avoid sowing seed if high humidity is present. Plan for 2 plants per 4-6 people. Best harvested just as the flower falls away. It can also be grown large as a marrow.  Maturity approx. 50 days.
